the ignition key is broken iside the ign switch .there r 2 sockets onr red and one white red with 2 wires and white with 4.i did start my car when same happened last time but i forgot which wires i connected to start.please help very urgrnt .

My pug 205 diesel is having problems starting in the morning, particularly in the cold. In the warm it will start first time but when it’s cold, it turns over and the sound gets faster and faster before it eventually catches and is fine.
Is there any tests i could do to see if its the glow plugs/starter motor?
I know it’s not the battery, replaced that recently.

I bought it second hand but still has a fair bit of MOT left on it. test drive was slow but steady and i didn’t encounter a hill till after i bought it. its top speed is about 38 -43 at a push, that cant be normal. there is a slight scraping sound on the rear brake and hills are a joke. if any one can offer any advice i would be greatfull.
