I’m thinking about buying a 2003 passat wagon. I love how it drives but a bit concerned about passat’s maintenance record and cost. For those who have or have had a passat do you recommend buying a used one. I currently drive a honda civic and have had low maintenance cost over the past 11 years. I need a car which is reliable, a pleasure to drive to haul myself and my two 70lb retreivers around town and on trips.
I drive an old VW Polo which i got when i was at uni and now i’m looking for my next car.
The 2.2 Peugeot has 160BHP, 0-60: 8.7, dual-zone climate control and styling of a supercar.
The 318i SE BM on the other hand has excellent build quality, 140BHP, 0-60: 9.0, rain sensors, parking sensors.
Which one shall I go for & why?
The 205 is the best car of the world !

ZarLa : MF ! ah, you know nothing about the cars, am sure you take the bus hehehe
Euphorie : cos you didn’t drive it ! Once you touch the wheel, you feel the light steering, you sense all the little subtleties of the asphalt through the cushion right up your bare butt (I drive naked, sometimes) you just can’t stop, you go til the end of the road and sing like a psychopat ! :)))
The car is a v6 with under 50,000 miles.
My son switched the cars’ oil to synthetic oil and during the “cleaning” out process, the engine yuck clogged up the oil pump, and burned up the engine. Is Carmax, newspaper, Auto-Trader, the best place to sell this car and what would it be worth?
I really want it out of my driveway, tried papers, flyers, etc.
are there any websites I can post it on?
I’m in MD

I am in the U.S. trying to find a Peugeot 406, but am not having very much success. I’ve even looked all over eBay and AutoTrader, but am coming up blank.
I’m looking at a late 1990’s – early 2000’s model convertible of one of the above cars. Which one would be more reliable, more fuel efficient, cheaper to fix and so on…
