Not very successful in the USA. I remember seeing a few here and there but they did not catch on with the general public.
I always wanted a Le Car back in the 80’s cuz of the name

Not too successful, because of maintenance and parts being hard to find and very few dealerships, in rural areas it was impossible to get service.
I was at the Los Angeles Car show quite a while ago and Renault had one of its rally cars there. It constantly ran a video on a huge screen showing it during a rally run, the video was shot from the back through the windshield showing the instruments and the driver and co-pilot. It was snowing, you couldn’t see a 50 meters ahead on the mountain road, and they were going around some of the corners at over 100kph….. I was amazed.
Every now and then I see a restored rally car at local car shows. They generally get a lot of attention because they are really rare in the USA.
